In the seventh year thou shalt make a remission, [2] Which shall be celebrated in this order. He to whom any thing is owing from his friend or neighbour or brother, cannot demand it again, because it is the year of remission of the Lord, [3] Of the foreigner or stranger thou mayst exact it: of thy countryman and neighbour thou shalt not have power to demand it again. [4] And there shall be no poor nor beggar among you: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in the land which he will give thee in possession. [5] Yet so if thou hear the voice of the Lord thy God, and keep all things that he hath ordained, and which I command thee this day, he will bless thee, as he hath promised.

Deuteronomy 15:1-5

Tomorrow marks the 7th Anniversary of Pope Benedict XVI’s flight from the wolves. I’ve talked about this before here:

On February 11, 2013, a biblical plague (or famine in which we are being deprived of Truth and holiness) began in earnest. I say “in earnest” because anybody who has been following along the past 7 years has learned that this problem began long before February 11, 2013. Nevertheless, on that date, the visible head of the Bride of Christ became invisible, and the Vicar of the AntiChrist began aping his role one month later.

In perhaps a vain attempt in seeking hope that this plague will end, I did a quick search of situations in the bible that lasted 7 years. My strong hope is that God will honor His own law that He set forth in Deuteronomy 15:1 (above), and give us remission from this plague now that 7 years have elapsed. Because, in a very real way, we have deserved this famine. It is payment for our debts.

Of course God will ultimately forgive us our trespasses and grant us the remission He has promised, whether in this life or the next, provided we have the proper remorse and humility. But is there something to this 7 years?

The following are a few Scripture verses that with 7 years. In this limited instance, I’m using the RSVCE interpretation instead of the Douay Rheims (which I almost always use), just for an easy read. This isn’t an exhaustive list.

Genesis 29:18: Jacob loved Rachel; and he said, “I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.”

Genesis 41:26: The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years; the dream is one.

Genesis 41:27: The seven lean and gaunt cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears blighted by the east wind are also seven years of famine.

Genesis 41:29, 30: There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt, but after them there will arise seven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt; the famine will consume the land

Exodus 21:2: When you buy a Hebrew slave, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free, for nothing.

Leviticus 25:4 but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to the Lord; you shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard.

Leviticus 25:8 “And you shall count seven weeks of years, seven times seven years, so that the time of the seven weeks of years shall be to you forty-nine years. (Note: let’s pray this one doesn’t apply … I can’t handle 42 more years of this …)

Deuteronomy 31:10: And Moses commanded them, “At the end of every seven years, at the set time of the year of release, at the feast of booths,

Judges 6:1The Midianite Oppression ] The people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of he Lord; and the Lord gave them into the hand of Mid′ian seven years.

Judges 12:9 He had thirty sons; and thirty daughters he gave in marriage outside his clan, and thirty daughters he brought in from outside for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.

2 Kings 8:1The Shunammite Woman’s Land Restored ] Now Eli′sha had said to the woman whose son he had restored to life, “Arise, and depart with your household, and sojourn wherever you can; for the Lord has called for a famine, and it will come upon the land for seven years.”

Ezekiel 39:9: “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go forth and make fires of the weapons and burn them, shields and bucklers, bow and arrows, handpikes and spears, and they will make fires of them for seven years;

There are of course many more. Note that I intentionally did not get into Daniel. I do think his prophecy is very relevant, but it deserves its own separate analysis … and I want to see what happens with Bergoglio’s post synodal exhortation, as that is likely to influence what I need to say.

What do you think? Do we have reason to hope that God is about to grant us remission? How do you think that will look? Is there a scripture verse that’s particularly helpful for you?

May Our Father have mercy on us and His Church. Now. This week. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Eternal Word, and through the power of their Holy Spirit. May we forgive all transgressions against us, be forgiven for ours, and be given a true shepherd to lead us forward in what is now undeniably going to be an epic battle for souls.

  1. As you will write about ‘7’ in the book of the Prophet Daniel, please note that the Blessed Virgin in the 3 (4) Secret of Fatima refers to Dn 9, 24-25 and Matt 21, 42-44. Here is the actual content of this Secret []:

    “JMJ April 1, 1944

Now I am going to reveal the third fragment of the secret: This part is the apostasy in the Church!

Our Lady showed us the individual who I describe as the ‘holy Father’ in front of a multitude that was cheering him.

But there was a difference from a true holy Father, his devilish gaze, this one had the gaze of evil.

Then, after some moments we saw the same Pope entering a Church, but this Church was the Church of hell; there is no way to describe the ugliness of that place. It looked like a gray cement fortress with broken angles and windows similar to eyes; it had a beak in the roof of the building.

Next, we raised our eyes to Our Lady who said to us: You saw the apostasy in the Church; this letter can be opened by the holy Father, but it must be announced after Pius XII and before 1960.

In the kingdom of John Paul II the cornerstone of Peter’s grave must be removed and transferred to Fatima.

Because the dogma of the faith is not conserved in Rome, its authority will be removed and delivered to Fatima.

The cathedral of Rome must be destroyed and a new one built in Fatima.

If 69 weeks after this order is announced, Rome continues its abomination, the city will be destroyed.

Our Lady told us that this is written,[in] Daniel 9:24-25 and Matthew 21:42-44”
    End of quote.
Sr Lucy wrote down this secret on April 1, 1944, the Saturday before Palm Sunday, which is on the threshold of the first Holy (=Great) Week. The 69th Holy Week was that in the year of the Lord 2012, celebrated by the last Roman Pontifex, Benedict XVI. The 70th Holy Week in the year of the Lord 2013 has already passed under the rule of Jorge the Apostate, the destroyer of the Roman Catholic church – God pours his anger on the Great Whore.

  2. I believe 49 (or more) years may apply, but need not be counted from Bergoglio’s fapacy.

One very public change which affected almost the entire Church was the introduction of the Pope Paul VI Mass, which was meant to happen churchwide on the First Sunday of Advent 1969, but was delayed. I don’t have dates for when it was finally “rolled out” in secular parlance, but the seven years of Bergoglian fapacy and forty nine years since the Mass change in overall Church practice may be fairly close.
